The County of Hawaiʻi announces that all non-emergency County services and operations will be closed on Friday and Saturday as a strong Kona low storm moves across the State and over Hawaiʻi Island. 

Closures for Friday, March 13, 2026: 

  • All State and County of Hawaiʻi Offices
  • County of Hawaiʻi Park Facilities
  • County of Hawaiʻi Solid Waste Facilities (Including Transfer Stations)
  • All Public (DOE) and Private Schools
  • Mass Transit Agency - Modified Route Schedules

Emergency Shelters will open Friday, March 13, 2026 at 12:00 PM. Visit our Hazard Impact Map for shelter locations.
