An American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course, which includes deep water training, will be offered at Pāhoa Community Aquatic Center (PCAC), March 16-20, 2026, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

COURSE INFO:

Course is open to participants who will be 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the lifeguarding course.

Participants must pass two prerequisite swimming skills evaluations, which must be completed by or on the first day of classes.

The course costs $123, and payment must be made in cash in the exact amount.

BRING TO CLASS: 

Participants should bring to each class: CPR masks for adults and infants, a bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, water and snacks, and the Lifeguarding Participant’s manual.

An introduction to competitive swimming for keiki who have never swam competitively before. The season runs during the spring and participants compete in swim meets around the island.
