The Richardsons Roughwater Swim is held annually at Richardsons Ocean Park. The 2025 event is August 30 with a start time of 9:30 a.m. See the information below, and if you have questions, you may email Aquatics@hawaiicounty.gov. 

2025 Richardsons Roughwater Swim Results

For the Month of September 2025, Hilo Sento and Spa is offering a deal for all race participants! Bring in your race towel for a $20 day pass (usually $45). Their location is 639 Kinoole St. and they can be contacted at (808) 315-7488. 

An introduction to competitive swimming for keiki ages 5-17 who have never swam competitively before. The season runs during the spring and participants compete in five swim meets around the island.

Our Learn to Swim program offers swimming lessons, generally from June through July. Call pools directly for information about class schedules and availability. See descriptions of different levels below:
